I was doing so well all week with the wifi and then there was a thunderstorm and it all went caput! Sorry for the radio silence yesterday! Now it's fixed, I thought I'd nip in to spread a little love this weekend with a pic of a fab mid-century sitting room in a converted garage.

Everything except the garage doors (although they do make a great backdrop?!) can be found in this wonderful little Etsy shop I stumbled on earlier on in the week.

This home in the city of Palermo, Sicily occupies the first floor of a 16th century 'palazzo' (I know, right?!). It belongs to the owners of Leftover - a shop selling bespoke furniture made from recycled materials. The space has been kept pared-back with a blend of vintage, handcrafted pieces and industrial touches which look fabulous against the dramatic Italian reniassance backdrop. What a truly magnificent space. Let's take a tour...

Oh how I'd love to live here, imagine putting your own stamp on a place like this?

Sadly we can't all live in a 16th century Italian palazzo (although i speak for myself), but we can still take inspiration from the decor at least! This is a great source for vintage school chairs (check the height to ensure it's not too low!), the table is by Leftover as are several other items.  Choose from a selection of vintage measuring sticks, mirrors, industrial floor lamps and suitcases on Etsy. Try ebay or your local auction house for a beautiful leather chesterfield like the one shown.

If you're after a little more Italian inspiration today this loft with mid-century pieces is fabulous!

Will you look at that? it's Friday already - love that! Have you got any fun plans for the weekend? As always I'd love to be heading off somewhere remote like this cabin, which is not possible - but I might try to go for a hike in Söderåsen national park. This beautiful home would also be on the agenda if it were available for rent. Tony and Åsa Löfling set about converting the former goldsmith's workshop and store into the fab home it is today with the help of Tony's cousin - architect Johan Israelson.  Located in rural Västmanland, the space has been decorated using a blend of cool industrial, concrete and steel against cosy sheepskins, rattan and wood to create a surprisingly warm, cocoon-like feel. Perfect inspiration for a chilly Autumn weekend, don't you agree?!

Loving the wine rack on the ceiling with it's own personal ladder. Now if that's not inspiration for the weekend I don't know what is. Do you think they take the ladder away during the week?!

Iiiiit's Friday - yaaaay! It's been a very relaxed-bohomian week here on My Scandinavian Home with so many exciting homes full of personality - I hope you've felt inspired? To round up the feel of the week I thought we'd head to Melbourne, Australia and the home of artist Saskia Folk in a converted factory. Think industrial with a relaxed vibe and the odd splash of colour. The perfect home to complete the week!
